Artist Bio
Dishy Tangent began in 2012, with founding musicians Reason and Matt Kelsey. The duo started out writing original music which was recorded. When it came to performance it was quickly noted that a few more musicians would be needed to translate the sound from studio to stage. The project was paused until the current line-up was assembled. The band now consists of:
Reason (lead vocals, keytar, guitar and harmonica)
Sustainard (guitar and backing vocals)
Sonic (bass guitar and backing vocals)
Dr. Dish (drums and percussion)
Yung Blud (keyboards and backing vocals)
Dishy Tangent have a completely unique sound, and have gained notoriety for their genre bending approach to music, with regular radio support (Phoenix FM, Time107.5 FM, BBC Radio London 98.0 FM, Resonance 104.4 FM, KLFM, EGH Radio, Threads Radio, Bristol City FM, Powerhouse 106FM plus many more) of the latest albums: Timeless Music and Jumping On The Bandwagon.
The band have supported music legends The Darkness, UB40(Ali, Astro and Mickey), The Beat, The Egg and Space.
Working with many promoters including: Trinifold Management , The Welling Round Table, Live In London, Absent Kelly, Twisted Melon Promotions and Flat50 Records and performing at a variety of venues and events including: The Hope Festival, The Dereham Carnival, Dark Horse Fest (Isle of Man), Boxpark Shoreditch, Festival Too, The Cornbury Music Festival, VW Whitenoise Festival, Boxpark Wembley, The Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, The O2 London Arena and Danson Park.
2019 saw the band make their debut on national television, by making 3 appearances on Channel 4 and Dice Recordings’ The Big Narstie Show alongside Laville, Mundu and Donae’o.
2020 and the band were set to play their biggest show to date: Supporting Nile Rodgers and Chic at The Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust but Covid changed everything.
2022 and the band are ready to pick up from where they left so keep an eye on the networks for news about new music, shows, merch and more.
