FEATURED POST FROM THE BEST BLOGGERS IN MUSIC: Voting for the first time? We’ve got you
As you’re probably well aware, we’re in the midst of a presidential election year in the US. Did you know that in addition to the Office of the President, all 435 seats in the House, 35 seats in the Senate and 100+ statewide ballot measures will be decided this Election Day? That’s a lot of people making decisions that will impact your life — which is why it’s important that you exercise your right to vote in this coming election, and every election, to shape the government you want.
At SoundCloud, we’re gearing up for the big day by launching Turn Up the Vote, our first-ever non-partisan, pro-democracy campaign to help new and first-time voters navigate the voting process.
We’ve also teamed up with HeadCount to provide an easy, step-by-step action plan to get you registered, get informed and get your vote in. You can do that right now by heading over to our Turn Up the Vote site.
It’s where you can:
1. Register to vote — or check your registration status.
2. Make a voting plan. Get informed on candidates, find out if you can vote early and request a mail-in absentee ballot.
3. Vote. If you’re mailing in your ballot, know your deadline. Or if you’re voting in person, find out where you need to go and what you need to bring on November 3.
Young voters in the 2020 election are viewed as a significant force in potentially driving one of the largest voter turnouts in US history. If you’re 25 or younger, you represent one of the largest, most diverse generations ever — and you have the power to create change to the government, the laws and the policies you want to see now and into the future.
As a part of the SoundCloud community, we know you’re already tuned in to the world around you. Now it’s time to turn up and make noise.
