“Box Wine Blues” is about Olly’s own internal struggle. He is at a crossroads in his life. With the pandemic, is music sustainable as a source of income? The song captures his situation of a recent grad, isolated, carrying the weight of his dreams. His dream is to pursue music, yet the reality is economic uncertainty. He feels increasing pressure to find alternative work.
It symbolically depicts Davies’ personal fear of peers and relationships leaving him behind. Likewise, “box wine fighting against better vintages”.
The track has a Miles Davis feel. In talent, energy, and incredible vocals, the artist reminds us of a young Paul McCartney.

From the artist: Olly Davies is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Guildford, United Kingdom. He was the winner of the Fender Great Escape competition. He opened for the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
Following this performance, the artist began writing, recording, and performing. throughout university.
He began with a home demo that picked up over 14,000 streams on Soundcloud. Previously released singles are “Lavender” and “Sweet Coffee Kisses”.
He has performed throughout the Uk with Musicians against Homelessness.
