Can you tell us a little about yourself?
The Shy is an American Hip-Hop and Pop Artist with passionate vocals, powerful melodies,
and deep lyrics full of mystery, wonder, and meaning often compared to NF, Sufjan Stevens, and The Neighbourhood.
He writes his music from a very real and vulnerable perspective, crafting engaging stories and emotional melodies while bringing the excitement of his music to life on stage and in the studio. He has found inspiration in artists The 1975, The Neighbourhood, NF, Halsey, and Twenty One Pilots. The Shy performed in Vans Warped Tour as a drummer for the band Acoma Chyne after competing in and winning 1st place in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands in 2013.
His debut album "Masquerade" released in the fall of 2019 and demonstrates his willingness to be vulnerable and to be real about life from an awakened perspective. The single "My Life" is a really catchy song and is sure to have you relating and feeling a sense of wonder and good vibes the whole way through.
What I really want…
My goal for my music is to simply be heard and impact the lives of people who need to hear it the most. Getting heard and playlisted on Spotify is my main goal and means to achieve this.

How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I grew up with emotional abuse from a workaholic father who saw me more as a slave than an empathic child. I promised myself I would find freedom in this world and to express my emotions and higher consciousness with the world through music which has saved my life at every crossroad and impacted it more than anything.
