“Honestly I just kinda do my thing. I make the type of music that I want to make whether that be R&B, lo-fi, indie, pop, or whatever else I decide to make in the future. My main goal is just for people to be able to connect, relate, and maybe even take something out of my music. Even though I have an extremely small audience I feel extremely grateful that people take time out of their days to listen to something I had a part in creating.”
What I really want…
I just want people to tune in, listen, and feel something. Music is all about producing emotions in listeners and I feel like that sentiment has been lost recently. As long as people – hopefully more and more as time goes on, will listen and be able to find something/some sort of emotional response from my music.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Gavin James, Joji, my friends and family, and everybody I work with and will ever work with (among other artists and figures for sure)
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
While I consider myself to be privileged when it comes to lifestyle, I have grown up a loner and have been ousted from pretty much all of my friends in a repeating cycle all through my life up until this point. I have suffered from depression and almost lost but honestly, music saved my life. I remember crying nightly listening to “for you” by Gavin James and I remember listening to Porter Robinson’s “shelter” for the first time and the reactions those two songs, others as well, is what I want to evoke in my own listeners. I know I haven’t had as hard a life as many but I have definitely had my struggles and had to fight with everything I had to be at the place I am now in my life and with my mental health.
