Who are you?
I, SipThatCody the "bwoi" from the West, the City of 011, would describe myself as an all-rounded artist. I may be from the Westside of Johannesburg but my music is also influenced by the Northern and Southern side of music in South Africa as well as in the upper Northern countries such as North America, especially in areas such as New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta etc. I also see myself as a storytelling, street-culture-influenced, flow centred artist although I never box myself in when it comes to creating my art and that makes me believe that I am still yet to improve, be better and become bigger as an entertainer.
Where are you from?
I am from a town based in the West of Johannesburg, South Africa called Kagiso and I am in the main central area where everything and anything happens in this area, from the most amazing creatives to anything you wish you could get here ! Much of my inspiration comes from my surroundings in and out of Kagiso, and I must say the music here is very diverse. We have one South Africa's best R&B artists, various talented hip-hop, trap-influened and lo-fi artists and we all have something very special to say about our hometown and Johannesburg as a whole, known as the city called '011'.
