Tell us something about you that fans should know:
My music is experimental, pop, electronic, sometimes guitar-driven, but most importantly, it's all created using my iPhone and Apple earbuds. I want my music to serve as an exploration into what it means to be an artist in 2021 and what it means to find the human spirit within our modern-day technologies. I want to be a voice for my generation and really show people what we can do and all the beauty we've found within our virtual world. Now, the music itself is emotional, often toxic, and not tethered to any genre. Ultimately, it's really all about the same thing, that's why my name's Rubys Boy, but I'm not one to speak on that, so the rest is up to you to imagine.
Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?
My name is Ruby and I'm a seventeen-year-old artist from Parkville Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. Out here, the scene mostly consists of indie rock and honestly, there's not too much variation yet. However, my friends and I have created a plethora of experimental electronic music and are really striving to make waves by ushering in a new sound for the city. With that, big shouts out to Jack Mansion, Ark Official, Yung Community Pool, Tripp7, WakeupKyson, Toothache, all of them.
