“Ivan Maradiaga, commonly known as Lil Reaper is a 16 year old Musical Artist near the Los Angeles Area. Located in Simi Valley, the young artist still attends high school. Lil Reaper is the founder of the group/brand “Bloody Paradox”. Inspired by several artists, Lil Reaper says that his father who has not been in his life since he was 6 years old is his biggest inspiration. This young artist gets lost in his thoughts and thinks about his life and makes songs about the true realities of this world that other artists are too afraid to show to the public. Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
I was born and have been raised in the 805 nearly my whole life. Currently living in Simi Valley CA, the music scene isn’t really known here, but i would really love to change that and let the people in my town know that there’s someone in their town that wants to make a huge difference in their life.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
My top inspiration has to be my dad since he hasn’t been in my life since i was six years old, that inspired me to do better than he did and be a better person than he ever was.
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
i have been through a lot over the years so i’ll just cut it all short… In 2010 i was taken away from my family & put into foster care, in 2011 my dad went back to prison, in 2013 my dad ended up getting deported to Nicaragua, before I was ever taken away from my family, I was raised around a gang affiliated family and near a lot of gang members and drugs/guns,etc. growing up. It truly has been a rough past but I will NEVER let that change who I am!
