Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
I am from Houston, Texas. Music is a very important thing down here, but unlike many of the other major cities with hip hop scenes like Atlanta (where I was born) or Chicago, there aren't really any known labels down here that put artists on or artists that give other artists a shot. This means that usually when someone has a buzz down here they did largely on their own.
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
My music is all based on my life. I don't like when people rap about things they haven't experienced, done or seen, so I make sure that everything I rap about is stuff revolving around or stemming from my life and the people in it. It's a lot of stuff that goes on down here good and bad that a lot of us have to go through and that influences what I write about because in all of my songs I'm really speaking from the heart.
