Tell us something about you:
A lot of people like to describe me as the “Benny Blanco,” of the underground. I like to write and produce for other artists and then release it with them. It’s more of a collaboration rather than one person is an artist and one is the writer. Nobody else is doing what I’m doing right now.
My name is YB Brown Sugar and I’m a 15 year old artist and producer from Pittsburgh, Pa. There isn’t too much of a music scene here, especially for my style. A lot of the influence is mainly from Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa as Pittsburgh was once there home.
To be honest none of my music is really based off of an experience. It’s more about current emotions. For example my song “Abstract” is a higher energy, fun song and it came outta that way as I recorded it straight after a workout. It helps the song feel more real.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Some future collaborations I would like are Jack Harlow, Machine Gun Kelley, Jaden Smith and a lot of others. But it’s not always about how popular an artist is, that’s the whole point of underground music. Some of the best artists are not even known yet.
