Interview: StillCurious

Artist Name: StillCurious

“As an artist, I’m a guitarist in love with rock n roll. I love energy and being in the noise. I am a self-producer and want to push my music into a sound that nobody has tapped into yet. The evolution of rock, so to speak. Outside of music, I’m in college and eventually want to start a music business. I’m based out of Atlanta and want to make noise.”
Mainly rock music. In the past, I’ve created some lofi and ambient music, but going forward it will have a rock feel nine times out of ten

Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
Im from Atlanta, and I live in a house with a bunch of my friends who all make music. Fish and the Washroom Acoustics and San Ombía are local bands making moves in the Indie/Surf scene.

What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Badflower

How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I’ve never taken a guitar class, or been taught in any way other than tabs and YouTube videos when I was younger. By 16, my grandfather (who had inspired me to start playing guitar) died of cancer and I started taking my playing more seriously. I stopped watching videos and began playing by ear as well as developing my own style. Once I was 18, a lot of pent up anger at the world poured into my music and it became an obsession. Every night I’d work, and I’d stay up all night. And now my style of playing, my production ability, and my sound have all been shaped by that.
