Recording Artist: Joc Bodhi

“Joc Bodhi

I'm a 23 year old independent artist from Canada. I have a very diverse sound playing with dark emotional tones as well as light playful festival and club music. My lyrical content provides an existential float through the cosmos. I deal with my past trials and tribulations as well as communicating my profound realizations and development.
I produce, I'm a songwriter, a vocalist and I play the guitar.

Check me out ! Hope you enjoy .”

Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
I'm from Western Canada. The scene is starting to bubble here, we are finding our own unique sounds and all the artists are hungry to make something happen. Growing up here is different , it gives you a very cultured perspective. There is plenty of diversity and it is one of the most unified places in the world.
At the same time it gets real quick, like most places.

What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Corbin, shlohmo, thom yorke

How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I put my heart and soul into my music. When I create I relax, open up, and let my experience flow freely.

I had a difficult childhood riddled with family trauma. Mental illness, death, psychological, verbal and physical abuse were present in my life for as long as I can remember. Simultaneously I grew up around very interesting people. Seeing a lot of what the world has to offer at a young age.

As I grew things changed and I turned to a rougher path, turning to the street and older mentors who didn't have my best interest. Around 19 everything blew up for me. I found rock bottom, addicted to Xanax and Vyvanse I had a number of my friends go to jail, one close friend OD. No job, girlfriend left me as well as a lot of people around me.

I had been making my own music for about 3 years at that point, one night I decided I needed to change my reality. I booked a trip to Vancouver that night, left 2 weeks later and moved to Vancouver a month after that. I began a soul finding journey which led me down the most insane, blissful, creative, chaotic, profound journey one could ask for. I remembered who I was and I found my people.

As I found myself I found my sound. I went clean and started prioritizing different things. I built myself into a man and I Created a body of work.
Now I'm here, Complete and ready to show the world what I am.
