Tell us something about you that fans should know:
I am versatile and take a pragmatic approach to my music. So I do believe in the "magic" of creating music and all that but at the same time I try to stay objective and not fly to close to the sun so the music won't end up sounding too obscure to be enjoyed.
Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?
I am from Cape Town, South Africa. The music scene is still finding its feet in terms of independent artists making careers for themselves. The city is still seen to be in the shadows of the other city in the country which has a more developed industry. With that said, there is a real hunger and rawness that you can hear in the music coming from our city.
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I always think of life as a movie and whenever something impactful has happened in my life I always wonder "what dialogue would sound dope in this scene in the movie?" That usually ends up in me coming up with one line and then expanding it into a hook of a song or a line of a verse.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Mike Shinoda, Pharrell Williams and Rick Rubin.
