Artist Name: Icyuzumaki
Tell us something about you that fans should know:
Growing up I listening to a lot of trap, r&b, and gospel music. These genres gave me a sense of overall structural arrangement and balance between melody, harmony, and rhythm. I have a tendency for utilizing choirs, strings, synths, bells, and piano . Percussion is just as important and I always emphasize 808s (my favorite part).
Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?
I’m was born in Springfield, MA but also grew up in Hartford, CT. The state of the music scene right now is stale due to all the violence in recent years. We have got so many talented artists however, many of whom don’t get the praise they deserve. Shout out to Siah, Cortez, Dayvi, Devstacks, Killa Kiito, Wop G, KONY762, EBK THC, SB Bean, Xplicit Rhymes, Protigee, BigDeal Leek, and more!
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I grew up in two of the most violent cities in New England, but I’ve been blessed to see more than my surroundings. I’ve travelled to a bunch of different places down the east coast and even got the chance to go to China. I went to two different high schools and did two semesters at Howard University. I feel like my production style is a blend of me sticking to my hip hop roots but also experimenting with new sounds and not being afraid to be versatile.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
