Artist Name: B.A.Z
Latest Release: Know What We Do
“As an young lad growing up in the west of Reading I touch on anything any young lad would. Girls, messing about, spraying silly rhymes with a touch of aggression n energy the kind of music you would want to be in a low dark room stuffed with 100s of people. Unfortunately due to covid we can do this right now so to give that energy and entertainment in their own surroundings, I’m a artist that touches on a lot of subjects football, drugs, and repping what I do best music!”
Tell us all about this new track of yours!
The new track off my new EP titled Know What we Do is met by the first jam out of the 4 called Know What We Do no1 the reason I’ve called the EP and one of the tunes Know What We Do is because the whole message I’m trying to get across is mainly the majority the the scene chat rubbish and aren’t on what they say they are. (mentioned even more in a two pages of an article I wrote in the selektion magazine) this track comes with a catchy hook and an aggressive and bouncy verse followed by a calm n wavy break down bridge into another bouncy n jumped up verse. Lots of alteration and techniques have came into my rhyming n isn’t just mainly random words there is a sense of word techniques and not just random words mashed together.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
There’s 100s of artists I would like to colab with but it be honest I’m happy working with anyone as long as it’s dope music.
Where are you from and what is the music scene like?
I’m from westReading to be honest the west of Reading is a very rough n n dangerous place currently living in a section 20 area due to knife crime (meaning any officer at any time can randomly stop us n search us) already been giving a covid fine for shooting a video! To say the least Readings rough but filled with an alive underground scene. A lot of it is drill Afro beat grime etc etc we at 741 a group of 4 of us created in Reading 4 lads from Reading are all each individually bringing something different to the scene we all flow n spit at different paces, mine being very fast n bouncy 150/160 bpm but rhyming about growing up around this environment and what things I’ve come to see n experience in West Reading.
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
Massively I touched on about writing a column for the selektion magazine talking about my childhood n growing up around different ethnicities n hearing these people and also my dad play multiple genres each day we’re talking jazz, soul, reggee, rock, ska, hip hop, grime the list goes on even though I’m a rapper I try influence my style into what my musical experiences growing up turned me into, saying that I have experienced a lot of negatives in life and music has giving me the opportunity to vent and get that aggression out and hopefully help others to to not do the mistakes i made.
