“I am SadGirlsClub and I am an emo rap artist from Alabama. I love music it’s been apart of my life since I was a kid. I’ve always dealt with depression but being that I am black female, mental health is kind of overlooked in my culture. I want to be the voice for black girls who deal with depression and feel like no one understands them.”
If you could reach any goal in 2021, what would it be?
To gain more fans, to sign a record deal, to perform for people all over the world.
What is your greatest source of inspiration?
Xxxtentacion, juicewrld, Trippie Redd. I take inspiration from everyone though including other genres like alternative rock and pop
How have your life experiences influenced your music?
I’ve dealt with depression and anxiety for most of my life and never had anyone to really talk to about it. I have even gone to a mental hospital before for a suicide attempt. Music is the only thing that saved me. When I was in there all I did was write new songs.
