What inspired your new song?
With all the craziness going on in the world I wanted to write a song that described that feeling you get when you are deep within yourself, tuned out and in complete peace. For some it’s meditation, a long walk, etc. In my case it’s writing and creating. The track is talking about some of things that I think about in those moments and the feeling of entering another dimension (the Stardust).
Describe your writing process?
I’m sent (literally) hundreds of instruementals in any given week. From those, when I find a beat that speaks to me, I begin to write immediatly. (I have a very particular ear so 10% get picked up) The melody of the chorus is the starting point from there words and verses get completed. It takes me around 2 – 3 hours to finish a song when I’m in the zone. To record, I work with selective engineers and always memorize the tracks (as if I’m performing them). This allows us to finish the recording within 1-2 hours. From there it’s mixing, mastering, tweaking, ad libs and perfecting!

How do you stand out as an artist?
My goal is to be 1000% authentic and true to myself. When you see the latest video this is an example of that. An example of some different promotion I did was at all of my shows I had “Jay Diener” 100 dollar bills with my socials on them. I threw a stack into the audience. They loved it lol. I’d also say that I give the element of surprise. I may not come off as your typical rapper, but once people hear my music live and online the love comes pilling in.

Who are some of your influences?
Musically, Lil’ Wayne, Oasis, Bob Marley, Wiz Khalifa, Cam’Ron, John Denver, the list goes on. Honestly though I’m influenced by my peers around me as well who all are succesful in their own way. (which is a great circle to be in) Last, my dad man. My mom passed away from Leukemia in 2018 and I’m just honestly influenced by his strength and love. I miss my mom also. Life is crazy.
What gets you up in the morning?
Finding ways to invest and grow finacially. Also, I randomly have some connections in make-up and my girl is a make-up artist so definitely passionate to an extent there as well. Basketball and Football definitely are sports I follow.
What’s next for you?
Buliding, I’ve got more music ready to go after this release. I am blessed to have a strong team around me as well. (videographer, graphic artist, show plug, etc.) I’m not going to stop, the drive is ruthless.
