I write my own lyrics which has a lot of story telling and politics with it. Being able to structure my verses takes a lot of years it's something that you just wake up doing. I can compare my style to Nas and classic like KRS-ONE i speak a message in my songs.
Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?
My name Finesse and I am a female rapper. I was born and raised in the DC area in the early 80s. The music scene coming up go-go was just a local thing for us. Then when Salt n Pepa and Kid N Play came out with a song with EU that blew up. It's the rhythm of the song that has our hearts beating and the feeling of yes this is DC this is our music.
