Artist Name: Rajat SRKR

Tell us something about you that fans should know:

I've found my sound by listening to pop music and rnb here and there too. I think my sound most correlates with The Weeknd and Charlie Puth. I tend to mix in pop and rnb to create my own sound of jumpy, fun beats. I'm a 17 year old from Texas. I'm just trying to find my way in the music world. I've been doing pretty well so far I would think. I just want to get better and better. One reason I guess you should follow me is that my music has a lot of time put into it. I spend months on some songs getting it just right. I put in time to make my vision come to life you know? It's just who I am. I'm a perfectionist, and if a song's not perfect, I won't put it out.

Where are you from and what’s the music scene like there?

I'm from Katy, Texas. We have high schoolers and college students from the area trying to make it big, and some of them are starting to do quite well. I've been starting to get 100k plays on some of my songs after only making music for around 2 years, which is pretty cool. But the music career is tough. I see people giving up on their stuff like every month which kinda sucks. But I can see why. But I feel like if you're like me and you love what you do, giving up isn't even a thought that crosses your mind.

How have your life experiences influenced your music?

Almost all my music has to do with experiences I've had, and experiences my friends have had. Sometimes they'll tell me a story and I go "damn, that's a song right there". They'll support me all the way through it. A couple of my songs have to do with my own life. I've written songs about my insecurties, girls that didn't stay in my life, people that hurt me. There's a lot of personal stuff on my upcoming album. My favorite is the song about my current gf who i've been seeing for a year. It's a song that I hope when people listen to, it reminds them of their loved ones. That's really my goal with all my music. To give people that feeling of "wow that's me right there". So I try to make my music relatable, which isn't super hard since my life isn't all that exciting. But yeah, I just wanna show my audience that we can know nothing about each other but still feel the same emotions when listening to a good song. That's what music's all about right?

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

The Weeknd. Or Charlie Puth. They're my idols. Charlie Puth is the reason I fell in love with music in the first place, but the Weeknd is who helped me discover my sound and my style.

Song Title: Better Than This
